Casting Announced for My Neighbor Totoro 2025 West End Run

Victoria Chen joins the cast of the Royal Shakespeare Company show as Mei, while Ami Okumura Jones returns as Satsuki alongside Dai Tabuchi as Tatsuo, Jacqueline Tateas as Granny, and Ai Ninomiyaas as the Singer; coming to the Gillian Lynne Theatre March 8 - November 2.
The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) has revealed its casting for the upcoming “My Neighbor Totoro” West End run at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in London.Victoria Chen () joins the cast as Mei, while Ami Okumura Jones () returns as Mei’s older sister Satsuki alongside Dai Tabuchi () as their father Tatsuo, Jacqueline Tate () as Granny, and Ai Ninomiya () as the Singer.

Also included in the cast are Phyllis Ho as Yasuko, Steven Nguyen as Kanta, Jamie Zubairi as Hiroshi, and Deanna Myers as Tsukiko.The Kazego Puppetry Ensemble sees the return of Matthew Leonhart, Heather Lai, Shaofan Wilson (Miss Hara) and Anna Kato.New members include Rachel Clare Chan, Sally Cheng, Sabrina Pui Yee Chin, Victor Itang, Gabriel S Janoras, Ronnie Lee, Kumiko Mendl (Nurse Emiko), Annakanako Mohri, Richard Peralta, Lucy Park and Chloe Ragrag.

The creative team includes Tom Pye (production design), Basil Twist (puppetry design and direction), Will Stuart (orchestration), and Tony Gayle (sound design).  The stage play is adapted by Tom Morton-Smith () from the 1988 Hayao Miyazaki animated feature, and directed by Phelim McDermott.Joe Hisaishi executive produces for Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), in collaboration with Nippon TV and Improbable.plays at the Gillian Lynne Theatre from March 8 - November 2.
