Normally an RC build is expected to be the final software version before public launch.But as happened yesterday with macOS 15.4, Apple sometimes needs to release a second RC build as part of the testing cycle.Though Apple doesn’t share details on the specific changes made between each RC build, typically it only ships a second RC if critical bugs were discovered that needed to be fixed before launch.
The new RC released today carries build number 22E240.The first RC from earlier this week was 22E239.Apple has released this new build for all developers and public beta users.
