It costs half as much as the latest iPhone and has Apple’s effort soundly beaten, on paper, in five key areas.ScreenThe Edge 60 Fusion boasts a 6.7-inch pOLED quad curve edge display coated in Gorilla Glass 7i.That is tech talk for a high-quality curved screen, so it’s not flat, unlike the iPhone’s.But Moto has ensured it bests Apple thanks to its 120Hz refresh rate, twice as speedy at the 60Hz display the 16e has.The 60 Fusion can also output HDR10+ content and can beam up to 4,500 nits of brightness that should ensure readability in the sun.

The display’s resolution is 2712 x 1220.Cameras SUBSCRIBE Invalid emailWe use your sign-up to provide content in ways you've consented to and to improve our understanding of you. This may include adverts from us and 3rd parties based on our understanding. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Although there isn’t a charger in the box in the UK, which is a shame, it can charge with Moto’s 69W TurboPower tech if you have the right charger, which the firm says can charge from zero to 100 percent in 43 minutes.Apple does calibrate its iPhones well when it comes to battery but the iPhone 16e can only charge from zero to 50 percent in 30 minutes, meaning the Moto is quicker to top up when you need it in a hurry,Motorola release advert for their RazR 2 flip phone 256GB storageApple is notoriously stingy when it comes to base model storage and that’s no different with the iPhone 16e, whose £599 entry level model has 128GB storage. On the £299.99 Motorola Edge 60 Fusion you get 256GB storage - twice as much for half the price.Android software updates, messages, photos, videos and music all add up, and you might not have much storage left after a few months if you only have 128GB.256GB is a much more reasonable amount, and should be the least manufacturers are offering in this day and age.IP69 dust and water resistanceLike many smartphones in its price range, the iPhone 16e has IP68 dust and water resistance, which means it can withstand being submerged to a maximum depth of six metres for up to 30 minutes.Motorola goes one further though, adding IP68 and IP69 to the Edge 60 Fusion.

This means not only can the phone be submerged, it can also survive high pressure water jets.Unless you’re hosing down your phone this shouldn’t be something you have to endure, but it’s good to see Moto adding this rating on a £300 phone. The budget blower also has Moto’s Water Touch tech that claims to let you use the screen even when wet, something Apple doesn’t specifically advertise.Trending If it’s pure specs you are looking for, the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion looks like excellent value for many against the iPhone 16e as well as the wider, and very competitive, cheaper Android phone market.
