Skeletor and Cronies Join Masters of the Universe Feature

Jared Leto has joined the live-action feature as Skeletor.

Alongside the and actor are Sam C.Wilsonas Trap Jaw; Kojo Attahas Tri-Klops; and Hafthor Bjornssonas Goat Man.LAIKA CEO and director Travis Knight directs the film from Mattel Films and Amazon MGM Studios, with a screenplay by Chris Butler, who wrote and directed and for LAIKAThe film was originally in production at Netflix before it was canceled back in 2023.

Knight is also at the helm of LAIKA’s upcoming as well as in pre-production on at Warner Bros.follows 10-year-old Prince Adam, who crashed to Earth and was separated from his magical Power Sword—the only link to his home on Eternia.After tracking it down almost two decades later, Adam is whisked across space to defend Eternia against the evil forces of Skeletor.

But to defeat such a powerful villain, he will first need to uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man.Mattel’s Masters of the Universe franchise was first introduced in 1982 through a line of popular action figures.In 1983, the animated series premiered and became one of the first children’s programs to be syndicated on television.
