Mail app redesign now available in macOS 15.4 and iPadOS 18.4 betas - 9to5Mac

Apple just released a variety of new beta software updates, including iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS 15.4.The latter two updates introduce Apple’s big Mail app redesign to the iPad and Mac.macOS 15.4 and iPadOS 18.4 betas include new Mail features Late last year, iOS 18.2 launched big changes for Apple’s built-in Mail app on iPhone.

There was a refreshed design, plus major new inbox categorization features, and more.For the last couple months, Mac and iPad users have missed out on those changes.But now as of macOS 15.4 and iPadOS 18.4 beta 1, the redesigned Mail app is available on both platforms.

Apple’s Mail redesign on Mac and iPad offers similar functionality to what’s found on the iPhone.The highlight being the new inbox categories that split your mail into the following sections: Primary Transactions Updates Promotions And there’s also an All Mail view where you can see all your messages together.Like on the iPhone, Mac and iPad users can also disable these changes if they’d prefer to keep the Mail app working more like it used to.

As for visual changes, the new Mail app emphasizes sender contact photos, similar to what Apple’s Messages app does.It also updates various other UI elements for a fresh look.What do you think of the new Mail app? Let us know in the comments.
