Apple has just kicked off a new cycle of beta updates for its software platforms: macOS Sequoia 15.5 beta 1 is rolling out now to developers.macOS 15.5 beta 1 arrives shortly after 15.4’s public launch The public launch of macOS 15.4 isn’t far behind us.macOS 15.4 introduced a redesigned Mail app, new AI features, Quick Start support, and a lot more.

Now, macOS 15.5 beta 1 is here. It’s unknown what sort of updates and changes Apple has included in this next big Mac update. One possibility: Priority Notifications, which hit the iPhone and iPad with iOS 18.4, might be in the cards for macOS 15.5.

Due to the absence of Lock Screen notifications, the AI feature needs a custom macOS implementation which perhaps explains its absence from 15.4.Apple also didn’t include its new Food section for Apple News with recipes and cooking mode in the last Mac update, despite it arriving in iOS and iPadOS 18.4.Perhaps that’s another feature to look out for in macOS 15.5.

Whatever the changes in today’s release may be, we’ll keep you posted on any and all discoveries we make.To install macOS 15.5, be sure that developer beta updates are turned on inside the Software Update screen inside System Settings.Have you installed macOS 15.5 beta 1?
