Mattel Television Studios’ upcoming series, which features original music and updated takes on Barney classics, debuts October 14 on Max, followed by a linear premiere October 18 on Cartoon Network.
Mattel has revealed the official trailer and extended theme song music video for .The new series offers a fresh take on the beloved, iconic series that introduced the world to their favorite purple dinosaur, Barney, in 1988.
The theme song for is a nod to the original tune, but with an updated melody and lyrics.“We are thrilled to share a modernized Barney with a new generation of kids and their families,” said Josh Silverman, Chief Franchise Officer at Mattel.“At Mattel, we are proud to empower future generations with programming such as , and hope that audiences receive and carry with them the show’s key lessons of love for themselves and one another.” The series is co-produced by Mattel Television Studios and Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana.
Michelle Mendelovitz and Silverman executive produce for Mattel alongside Athena Georgaklis, Doug Murphy, Mellany Welsh, and Pam Westman for Nelvana.will premiere October 14 on Max, followed by a linear premiere October 18 on Cartoon Network.The series also launches on Cartoonito in EMEA and APAC, and Discovery Kids in LATAM. Select episodes of Barney’s World will be available on YouTube, where the first episode will debut early on October 11 in specific countries.
